2 Gilmore Girls Inspired Halloween Costumes

2 Gilmore Girls Inspired Halloween Costumes

It’s almost Halloween, friends, and you know what that means – it’s time for costumes. Last Halloween I recreated a costume from my all-time favorite TV show – Gilmore Girls. With a little inspiration from Pinterest, I was able to recreate Rory Gilmore’s Chilton uniform and had a blast finding clothing pieces that matched (or came close to matching) Rory’s uniform. You can see that post here: Channeling My Inner Rory Gilmore for Halloween. This year I decided to pay tribute to not only Rory but Luke and Lorelai too and got my husband, Denis, involved.

Luke and Lorelai are one of TV’s most beloved couples so I couldn’t miss the chance to dress up like them. Known for their “will they-won’t they” tension and quick-witted banter, Luke and Lorelai are a couple that are not only relatable but really, really funny. Her style is all bright colors and denim while Luke’s style is . . . well . . . plaid and flannel. She’s sharp as a tact and a total people person while he’s a total grump and kind of a loner, making their love story the ultimate opposites attract story.

Rory

It wouldn’t be a complete Gilmore Girls Halloween costume post if I didn’t include Rory. I’m currently doing my annual fall rewatch of the show and this sweater outfit Rory was wearing in the pilot caught my eye. Unlike Lorelai, Rory’s style is more laid back. She’s more into reading than cute outfits (or at least she was in Seasons 1 – 3), so I knew this look would be fairly easy to duplicate. I found this knit sweater on Amazon, paired it with a pair of jeans and boots, put on a backpack, and grabbed a book. I’m all ready for a day at Stars Hollow High or the Yale Daily News.

I also paid homage to Rory in Season 4 when she pays a Yale student $20 to sit by a tree and study. Would you pay money for a study tree? Honestly, I don’t think I would. I guess, it would depend on the tree.

Who are you dressing up for Halloween? If you are dressing up this year let me know in the comments. And for even more Gilmore Girls fan content be sure to check out The Gilmore Girls Post.

Verse of the Day: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. – 1 Peter 3-5
