An Amish-Inspired Afternoon at Kitchen Kettle Village in Lancaster, PA

Lancaster County is nestled in the Southern part of Pennsylvania and it’s most known for being the home of some of the oldest Amish communities in the U.S. It’s the perfect destination for any traveler who’s looking for a tranquil and relaxing place to visit.

On our recent trip to Pennsylvania we took a day trip to the village of Intercourse and stopped by the Kitchen Kettle Village – a small shopping village that offers historic Pennsylvania Dutch country goods, handmade Amish crafts, and delicious homemade foods. We saw all kinds of unique and one-of-a-kind gifts and ate some of the smoothest homemade ice cream we’ve ever tasted. I felt like I was in a Hallmark movie the whole time we were there.

This shop was full of really cute decor for the home and front porch

If you ever get a chance to go to Kitchen Kettle Village definitely check it out. Each shop has its own vibe and personality. I especially enjoyed looking around a store called Village Handmade, which was full of gorgeous Amish quilts and home decor. Another really cool shop was By Candle Light – it housed hundreds of unique candles and purifying lamps. Denis’ favorite shop was Deerskin Leather because they had leather goods for men and women.

Verse of the Day: So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20
