Fall is my favorite time of year to get lost in a good book. There’s just something about cooler weather, cozy sweaters, a warm cup of coffee, and a quiet evening at home that makes reading feel extra special. Give me a comfy blanket, a candle burning in the background, and a book I can’t put down, and I’m one happy girl.

Falling for the Hotshot by Cassandra Noelle
If you love sweet, faith-filled romances with a little adventure, this first book is one you’ll definitely want to add to your reading list. After a broken engagement, Autumn escapes to a remote fire lookout tower in Wyoming, hoping for a fresh start. Meanwhile, Blaze, a hotshot firefighter recovering from an injury, finds himself working dispatch. What begins as routine radio conversations between the two slowly turns into something more. But with a dangerous wildfire season approaching, their growing connection is put to the test.

The Bodyguard’s Fall by Cindy Steel
If cozy fall romances with a little suspense are more your thing, this next book deserves your attention. The story follows Liv, a screenwriter who returns to her hometown of Autumn Ridge, Vermont, after being threatened by a stalker. There, she finds herself under the protection of Tate Walker, her older brother’s best friend and an off-duty police officer. While staying on his family’s farm, the two grow closer through self-defense lessons, fall festivals, and plenty of unexpected romantic moments. But as Liv’s stalker gets closer, their growing feelings become even more complicated. This small-town, closed-door romance is actually part of a fall series of books from various authors.

The Academy & The Thoroughbreds by Elin Hilderbrand & Shelby Cunningham
Set at an elite New England boarding school called Tiffin Academy, the story of The Academy follows students and faculty as they navigate friendships, relationships, scandals, and the pressures of life at a prestigious school. When an anonymous social media account begins exposing everyone’s secrets, things quickly spiral out of control.
If you couldn’t get enough of the drama in the first book, then The Thoroughbreds is the perfect follow-up. We’re heading back to Tiffin Academy for another school year, where the students are navigating senior year, college applications, complicated relationships, and plenty of secrets. From Charley and East’s relationship troubles to friendship drama, new students stirring things up, and a financial scandal threatening the school, there’s never a dull moment.

How (Not) to Renovate a Haunted House by Jenny L. Howe
This book is a fun, cozy paranormal romance that’s perfect for spooky season. The story follows Amity Callaway, who moves to a small Massachusetts town with her recently divorced mother for a fresh start. However, their new fixer-upper comes with more than just renovation problems – it might actually be haunted. When Amity meets Theo, a charming amateur ghost hunter, the two team up to uncover the mysteries surrounding the house. Filled with ghostly surprises, laugh-out-loud moments, and a sweet, slow-burn romance, this book is a perfect mix of spooky and swoony.

The Matchmaker’s Cottage by Kat Sloane
If you can’t get enough of small-town, cozy romances, this next book should be right up your alley. The story follows Julia Schaeffer, who runs a charming bed-and-breakfast in upstate New York that’s struggling financially. When her childhood sweetheart, Ethan Duchamp, unexpectedly returns with a plan to use her cottage for a celebrity matchmaking scheme, Julia reluctantly agrees. The only problem? Ethan broke her heart years ago, and she’s not exactly thrilled to have him back in her life. As the two spend more time together, old feelings resurface, forcing them to confront their past.

Bonfire & Bliss Bookstore by Brittanee Nicole
Set in the charming small-town of Hope Harbor, this book follows Penny Darling, a bookstore owner who has sworn off love after a very public failed engagement. But when her childhood best friend, Jake “Monty” Montgomery, returns to their hometown, things take a turn. Monty, a book author, proposes a fake-dating arrangement where Penny helps him write the perfect romantic hero while he pretends to be her boyfriend to keep the town’s matchmakers away. But as they spend more time together, their pretend relationship starts feeling a little too real. The fake-dating trope is one of my favorites so if you love that trope as much as I do, this book will be perfect for you. Be warned, this book does have spice.

A Season for Falling by Kate O’Shaughnessy
The YA book follows Claire, a former child star who left Hollywood behind after her father’s betrayal and started a new life in a charming Connecticut town. Five years later, she’s enjoying a quiet life as a high school senior until her former co-star and childhood crush, Luke Cordova, arrives in town to film a movie. When Luke offers to pay Claire to help him prepare for his role, the two begin spending time together, and old feelings quickly resurface. But as their romance blossoms, Claire must decide whether she’s ready to confront the past she’s worked so hard to escape.

Trust Fall by Lynn Painter
This last book is a fun and romantic story filled with witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and plenty of swoony moments. The story follows Julia and Damion who find themselves growing closer than they expected under the most unlikely set of circumstances, forcing them to figure out whether they’re willing to let their guards down and take a chance on each other. Also, the audiobook is really good.

Love Felt Like This by Julia Olivia
I became a Julia Olivia fan last fall when I read If It Makes You Happy (you see my review of it here) so when I saw she had a new release this fall, I had to include it on this list. This book follows Griffin Harvey, a famous rock star struggling with writer’s block while trying to adjust to life as a single dad to his two-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, Beverly is a cheerful children’s television producer determined to save her beloved puppet show after losing its funding. When an unexpected television appearance brings the two together, they decide to team up to help each other with their careers. But as they spend time together in Beverly’s charming mountain hometown, their professional relationship slowly turns into something more. Just a heads-up, this book has some spicy scenes.

A Fall to Remember by Ellie Alexander
This next book follows Miranda Brown, who runs her family’s grocery store in the charming town of Half Moon Bay, California. After taking a much-needed vacation, Miranda unexpectedly becomes an internet sensation when her hilariously bad travel photos go viral. Who would have thought? A travel company approaches her to promote her hometown’s Fall Harvest Festival, which brings the handsome Jim Cole into her life. As the two spend time together, sparks begin to fly, but Miranda starts questioning whether Jim’s feelings are genuine or simply part of his job.

The Pumpkin Bride by Fiona Buttercup
If a whimsical fall read is what you’ve been looking for, this next book recommendation is perfect for you. Princess Marigold has run away from an arranged marriage and finds herself seeking refuge on a magical pumpkin farm owned by a grumpy orc named Jask Bone-Cracker. What she doesn’t know is that Jask is actually Sir Bram Duncan, her long-lost love who was transformed into an orc by a terrible curse. As the two spend more time together, old feelings begin to resurface, but breaking the curse won’t be easy. With its charming autumn setting, magical creatures, pumpkin pies, and swoon-worthy romance, this cozy romantasy gives off major Shrek meets The Princess Bride vibes. This is a second-chance love story with a little spice and a whole lot of heart.

Candy Apple Kisses by Amy Clipston
Set in North Carolina, this story follows Emily Carmichael, a struggling artist who returns to her charming hometown of Splendid Lake, to help her childhood best friend, Jake Hughes, save his family’s beloved apple orchard. As the two work together to prepare for the orchard’s 100th anniversary celebration, their longtime friendship slowly blooms into something more. But with Jake’s ex-girlfriend stirring up trouble and the orchard’s future hanging in the balance, can their budding romance survive?

Autumn at the Cat Cafe by Kathleen Fuller
In this book, Via Dalton is the owner of a charming cat café in the small town of Pecan Corner, Ohio. When the owner of the bookstore next door passes away, Via hopes to purchase it and preserve his legacy. But her plans are interrupted when Leo Brewster, the owner’s handsome but grumpy nephew, arrives from Los Angeles with plans to sell the property. Determined to change his mind, Via challenges Leo to complete her autumn bucket list, which includes pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and fall festivals. But as the two spend more time together, unexpected feelings begin to blossom. This book will give you all the Gilmore Girls vibes.

Practically Magic by Jen Calonita
This next book is a fun, cozy, witchy romance that’s perfect for your fall reading list. The story follows Kat Hadley, a young witch living in the charming town of Mystic Hollow, who discovers that her older sister secretly cast a spell to protect her from heartbreak. But when Kat finds out, her anger causes magic throughout the town to go haywire. With Halloween quickly approaching, the sisters must work together to reverse the chaos before it’s too late. Filled with small-town charm, magical mishaps, sisterly drama, and a little romance, this book gives off major Gilmore Girls meets Practical Magic vibes.

Something about September by Julia McKay
This book follows Rebecca McIntosh, who returns to her charming hometown of Bramley Hollow after inheriting her late grandmother’s diner. With only thirty days to renovate the property, Rebecca finds herself needing help from the one person she’d rather avoid: Cort Adams, her former high school crush who rejected her a year earlier. Now a handsome single dad and the town’s only contractor, Cort is impossible to escape. But as the two spend more time together, old feelings start to come back, and Rebecca starts questioning whether the life she’s been chasing is really what she wants.

Kiss Me Like You Mean It by Laura Wood
This next book follows Ophelia “Lee” Turner-Jones, who discovers that she accidentally married her longtime crush and older brother’s best friend, Nico, during a wild night in Las Vegas. A year later, Lee tracks Nico down in a charming small town in Maine to break the surprising news. But when she discovers that Nico desperately needs a wife, the two agree to pretend they’re happily married. The only problem? Lee has secretly been in love with him for years, and their fake relationship starts feeling a little too real.
