Summer is for dresses but not just any dresses – cute, comfortable, and affordable dresses. Walmart and H&M are some of my favorite places to shop for summer dresses because they provide a range of comfy and affordable options. From laid-back, everyday styles to chic evening frocks – both of these retailers are go-to stops.
In today’s post I’m going to share my thoughts on two dresses I got recently – one from Walmart and the other from H&M.

Walmart Time & Tru Tie Strap Dress
This dress caught my eye on the Walmart website a few weeks ago. I really liked the print and how flowy it seemed – perfect to throw on during a hot summer’s day. But when it arrived and I tried it on I was very surprised at how dense the fabric was. Honestly, I’d been expecting a more thin (and dare I say, cheap) material, but Time & Tru really stepped it up. This dress was TTS so don’t be afraid to order your actual size. There’s plenty of room so you shouldn’t have to order a size up. Also, if you’re currently nursing this dress is ideal because you untie the straps.
H&M Cotton Dress
This next dress makes me feel like I’m in a Jane Austen novel. Not only is it lightweight, it’s extremely breathable because it’s made of cotton. The eyelet detail on the puff sleeves gives it a little whimsical charm and the high smocked bodice looks nice on all figures. It also comes in a few colors but the white was my personal favorite. There’s just something about a white dress in the summertime. Unlike the first dress, this one tends to run a little small so definitely size up if you don’t like your clothing to be too clingy.
