Ever since I was a little girl I have been fascinated with New Year’s Eve – even more than New Year’s Day. I have a tendency to romanticize the idea of a new year coming in when the clock strikes midnight – I blame it on watching Disney’s Cinderella – I mean, everything literally changed for her when the clock struck twelve. And while some people might be attending a party, Denis and I will be having a cozy night at home.
But whether you’re ringing in 2022 at home like Denis or me or going to a party tonight I’ve got 3 outfit ideas you can rock this New Year’s Eve.
Cottagecore-Inspired Look
I’ve recently been introduced to a new style of aesthetics – it’s called cottagecore – and it basically celebrates the idea of living a simple, rural life. You can find all kinds of videos on TikTok and YouTube of it. I found this dress at Old Navy and it gave me major cottagecore vibes. Denis calls it my “Little House on the Prairie” dress. But I think it’s perfect for New Year’s Eve because it’s covered with little sequins.
Leather Jacket & Sequins
The easiest way to make an outfit ready for New Year’s Eve is to wear some sequins. Grab a sequin top or a sequin skirt, pair it with a leather jacket and you’re ready to hit the town. I found this sequin tank at Maurices but you can also find them on Amazon in a bunch of different colors.
Wintery Sherpa & Starry Pants
It’s been unseasonably warm here in Louisiana but the temps are supposed to drop soon so I pulled out my sherpa vest for this next outfit. I styled it with a pair of starry pants I got for my birthday, a cream colored blouse, and some black booties. What I like about this outfit is how easy it was to pull together – perfect for the cold weather.
