A Week of Work Outfits – 5 Easy Outfits to Inspire Your Next Outfit

Have you ever walked in your closet, stared at your clothes, and thought, “What am I going to wear today?” Yeah, I’ve been there a time or two and so have some of my friends.

Honestly, it wasn’t until I discovered Pinterest that I realized there’s more than one way to put an outfit together and that a stylish outfit is likely already in your closet – you just have to think outside the box to find it.

Let’s take a look at the outfits I wore last week. I was able to put them together with pieces that I already owned. And with a little help from Pinterest, I figured out some easy ways to create a unique look for each day.

Here are my sizes for reference: Tops: 1X – 2X ///  Bottoms:16 – 18 ///   Dresses:16 – 18 ///  Shoe: 10

Monday – Solid Lace Blouse & Tie Waist Ankle Pants

A good pair of linen tie waist pants are a Spring/Summer wardrobe must-have because they’re lightweight and go with just about any kind of top. I paired these Maurices tie waist pants with a sleeveless, white blouse I got from Amazon and my trusty jean jacket I got from the Gap on Monday. Not only was this outfit really comfortable, it looked effortlessly pulled together.

Tuesday – Sleeveless, Floral Blouse, Cardigan, & Black Slacks

A soft cardigan can make almost any outfit look polished. That’s why I have so many of them in different colors. But a soft cardigan in a solid color can really compliment a floral or printed top. Add a pair of black slacks and some comfortable flats and you’ve got a ready-for-work look.

Wednesday – Striped Shirt, Utility Vest (Similar), & Black Jeggings

Every closet needs a utility vest because it’s the perfect piece to throw on over a striped or graphic tee. A utility vest has the ability to take a casual tee & jeans outfit to the next level because it gives people’s eyes something to focus on. It’s an easy layering piece and it keeps you cool in the spring and summer months.

Thursday – Floral Eyelet Tank, Olive Jacket (Similar), & Black Slacks

The easiest way to style a feminine, floral tank top is by layering a lightweight jacket over it. The jacket in this picture is kind of old – I got it from Maurices about two years ago – but I keep reaching for it because it’s soft and goes with just about anything. Because the tank top is covered in flowers I wanted to keep it the focal point of the outfit, so I made sure to wear pants in a solid color and some white sneakers to match the whiteness of the tank.

Friday – Casual Tie Dye Tee & Light Washed Cuffed Jeans

Everybody loves a casual Friday and a tee with jeans and sandals is the ultimate casual outfit. An easy way to add a twist to the tee/jeans combo is by wearing a tie dye tee or a graphic tee. Finding a tee shirt that’s comfortable and doesn’t cling to your curves is a necessity for every wardrobe, because you can pair it with almost any kind of bottom – jeans, pants, skirts, shorts. And a comfortable tee shirt never goes out of style.

Putting together a cute outfit isn’t as hard as you may think. You most likely have some cute pieces in your closet that are just waiting for you to put them together and show them to the world.

So now that you’ve seen each outfit from last week are you inspired to put some outfits together from your own closet? What’s one clothing piece you just can’t live without?
