Ah, summer – a time of backyard bar-be-ques, lounging by the pool, and usually lots of outdoor events – and, of course, wearing a little white dress.

A white dress is a classic, closet staple for the summer because not only will it keep you cool, it can become the easiest wardrobe piece to dress up or dress down. In today’s post I’m rounding up some of my favorite kinds of white dresses this time of year.

You can never go wrong with a lightweight skater dress and this one from Maurices is a must because it stretches. With an elastic waistband and a lace bodice, this dress can take you from day to night. Plus, wearing a creamier shade of white never hurt anyone.

If you’re not really into wearing a solid shade of white, try rocking a printed white dress. I got this one from OId Navy last year and I find myself reaching for it even in the fall and spring months. There are hundreds of white dresses out there with all kinds of prints and patterns on them. Just find one you like and go for it.
