Free People Dahlia Maxi Dress Plus Size Review

Hello friends, in today’s post I’m going to share some of my thoughts on the Dahlia Maxi Dress I purchased a while back from Free People for Thanksgiving. I’d seen this dress all over YouTube and Instagram and I wondered if it would fit me. I’m a size 16/18 when it comes to dresses and a 40 DD when it comes to bras and I knew Free People is not a brand well-known for being plus size friendly so I was a little hesitant about this purchase. But before I added the dress to my cart I read the customer reviews and did a quick little Google search to see what other ladies my size had to say about it.

To be honest, there weren’t many reviews to read and very few that were left by anyone plus size, which I was a little disappointed about. Anyhoo, I decided to go on and buy the dress, figuring that I could always send it back if it didn’t fit – and boy, was I glad I did. So let’s jump into the review, shall we?

The Dahlia Maxi Dress is an embroidered dress with a smocked bodice, puffy sleeves, and a flowy, A-line, tiered skirt. It comes in 5 sizes ranging from XS to XL as well as 14 colors. Because I wanted to wear this for Thanksgiving, I ordered the one called Caramel Cafe Combo in an XL. I found the dress to be very comfortable and roomy – more roomy than I thought it would be. The flowy skirt is very complimentary to a lot of different body types plus it’s perfect for twirling. I think this dress is a great purchase if you’re plus size because it’s not form-fitting. Its loose fit makes it a great option for all kinds of events and figures. So if you’re plus size and have been wondering if this dress will fit you I recommend giving it a try. It just might surprise you.

P.S. I’ve linked some more Free People dresses that are plus size friendly at the bottom of the post.
