The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore by Laurie Gilmore
If you’re looking for a steamy romance novel that will give you all the fall vibes, this first book is the one for you. Set in the idyllic small town of Dream Harbor, it follows Hazel who discovers a secret message hidden in a book in the Cinnamon Bun Bookstore. With the help of a gorgeous fisherman named Noah, she follows the clues and finds more than she bargained for in more ways than one.

Falling like Leaves by Misty Wilson
This next YA book will give you all the Gilmore Girls feels. It’s about a high school senior named Ellis, who always has a plan. In her mind, her future is set: graduate at the top of her class, get into Columbia, and lay the groundwork for a successful and respectable career in journalism. But all of her plans come to a screeching halt when her parents tell her they’re separating and her mother will be taking her to a small town in Connecticut called Bramble Falls for her senior year. Can she make it a small town where everybody knows everybody? And more importantly, will she ever be able to stop bumping into a cute local barista (who may also have been her first kiss) named Cooper at every town function?

There’s Pumpkin About You by Athena Carstairs
A spicy romance between a determined party planner and a grumpy pumpkin farmer equals a fall book to remember. When Wren Southwick gets the chance to plan her best friend’s 30th birthday, she has the perfect location in mind to host the party – the Finch family’s Goldleaf Pumpkin Farm. Now all she has to do is get the owner – grouchy (yet extremely good-looking) August Finch on board. But can she do it in time for the party? You’ll just have to read and find out.

Love’s a Witch by Tricia O’Malley
Nothing’s better than curling up with a cozy fall fantasy with a gorgeous setting – and this next book doesn’t disappoint. When a witch named Sloane MacGregor and her sisters are summoned to the small, Scottish town of Briarhaven by their grandmother, getting out of there as fast as she can is the only thing on Sloane’s mind. But with her 25th birthday looming (the birthday where witches come into their magic – she finds herself trying to break a centuries-old curse that haunts her family and having to deal with Briarhaven’s grumpy yet very good-looking mayor, Knox Douglas, who wants to protect his town from her magic. Can these two put aside their differences and work together? Only time and magic will tell.

If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia
If your nostalgic heart is craving a fall set in the 90s, this next book is the one for you. Set in 1997, it follows Michelle as she tries to pick up the pieces of her life following a horrendous divorce. Her first step in doing that is by taking over her late mother’s B&B in the cozy little town of Copper Run, Vermont, but things don’t go as smoothly as she hoped. Not only is she learning the ins and outs of running a business, she also can’t escape her lovable, flannel-wearing, next door neighbor Cliff and his daughters. But the more she gets to know Cliff and his girls, the more she realizes that maybe what she needs is right in front of her.

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore + Coloring Book
It wouldn’t be a fall reading list if I didn’t include this book. Last fall, this book went viral and for good reason. Yes, it’s spicy and yes, it’s a tad cheesy, but a little cheese never hurt anyone. Set in the small town of Dream Harbor, it follows Jeanie who inherits her aunt’s beloved Pumpkin Spice Cafe. Happily, Jeanie quits her desk job, packs up, and moves to Dream Harbor to start a new chapter. Everything seems to be going her way, until she crosses paths with Logan, a grumpy local farmer who doesn’t find her happy-go-lucky attitude amusing. But can Jeanie finally soften Logan’s heart? If you like the book, then you’ll also love the matching coloring book. It’s filled with fall pictures and scenes just waiting to come alive with color.

Drawn Together by Juliana Smith
On a lighter note, this next book follows a children’s book author and illustrator named Flora who’s desperately trying to make it in New York City, but things are not going to plan. When she takes a commission for a difficult-to-please author, she hits a whole new level of low. Just when she’s about to give up and quit, a chance encounter with her neighbor (and dark lit connoisseur), Fletcher Harding, leads her to a solution. She can tutor Fletcher on how to write love stories, while he can help her tap into the darker themes of her work. But will this blossoming friendship lead to something more than just a career improvement?

The Wrong Kind of Falling by Whitney Amazeen
This next faith-based book follows Sebastian Black, a rich, high-society heir who disobeys his parents and becomes a professional MMA fighter. Cut off financially by his parents with no sponsors and his next fight on the way, he has to come up with a temporary job and fast. Que Romilly West, a sweet and generous woman who owns a dog-grooming business who is in need of some help. When she meets Sebastian at her local church, she knows he’s not right for the job but when her rent spikes, she has no choice but to hire him. But the more Sebastian gets to know Romilly, the more he realizes that maybe she’s someone worth fighting for.

A Love like Pumpkin Spice by Hailey Frost
When Nic catches her fiancé in the arms of her sister and her family takes her sister’s side, she decides to move away to the picture-esque little Hallmark town of Wayward Hollow for a fresh start. When she tries to save a stray cat, her path crosses with Henry, the local (and beloved) veterinarian who’s kind, thoughtful, attractive, and single. But just when Nic starts to open her heart to Henry, her chaotic past comes a-knockin’. Will Nic have the strength to close the door to the past and move forward? You’ll just have to read this book to find out.

Survive the Night by Riley Sager
It wouldn’t be a fall book recommendation list without having at least one creepy thriller and no one does creepy thrillers better than Riley Sager. Set in November 1991, this book follows a college student named Charlie, who’s mourning the loss of her best friend – the third victim of a serial killer called the Campus Killer. When Charlie needs a ride, she reluctantly accepts a ride from a guy named Josh Baxter. Josh says he’s driving home to take care of his sick father . . . but is he really? The longer Charlie stays in the passenger seat, the more she begins to suspect that Josh is hiding something. Maybe it’s the way there are holes in his story or how he doesn’t want to look in the trunk of his car. Could Josh be the Campus Killer? And if he is, will Charlie be able to survive the night?

A Love a Lifetime by Lara Van Hulzen
This next book was kindly gifted to be as an ARC (advanced reader copy) and I was so excited to get my hands on it. The story follows Charlie and Davis Benson, a married couple who just became empty-nesters. But they quickly discover that this season in their life isn’t everything that Charlie was hoping for. In the midst of planning their daughter’s wedding and facing the potential loss of their home thanks to a real estate deal that threatens their small town, Charlie is feeling a little lost. With an uncertain future and new challenges, can Charlie and Benson find a new path for their lives? You’ll just have to read and find out. I love Lara Van Hulzen books because they’re always so heartwarming. Her characters are always so relatable – the challenges they face are realistic and inspiring. Definitely a book worth reading. Check it out on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited now.

It’s Different this Time by Joss Richard
The last book of this list is second-chance love set in fall in NYC. What can I say, I can’t pass up a book or movie during the New York fall. It follows June Wood, a TV host whose hit show just got cancelled, and has nothing to lose. When she receives a mysterious email that invites her back to the NYC brownstone apartment she used to call home before she moved to LA, she decides to go and check it out. Turns out, she and her old roommate, Adam Harper, will inherit the multi-million dollar property when all the paperwork is completed in a month. The only problem is, June hasn’t spoken to Adam in five years and the last time they saw each other they didn’t end on friendly terms. Reluctantly forced together for one month, can June and Adam finally address their unfinished business?
